Capturing your birth story one beautiful photograph at a time.

  • Are you looking for the right person to capture your unique birth?
  • Are you wondering if you would want someone in your birth space photographing your most intimate and vulnerable moments of meeting your baby?
  • You might adore the idea of having a birth photographer but your partner needs some gentle convincing?

I am quiet and gentle in my mannerisms, which quickly puts my clients at ease once they have met me. I would never expect anyone to assume that I would be the right fit for their family so I always encourage a coffee date to sit down and talk through the processes and get a feel for our personalities. If they feel comfortable with me being present at their birth then we can discuss package options that will suit not only your wants but also your financial abilities. I am more than willing to have a chat over the phone before we meet as well if this is something that suits your schedule.

Many of my clients constantly tell me after the birth that they didn’t even see me in the birthing room or theatre. Because I wear medical scrubs I blend into the background of hospital staff coming in and out. The way I photograph is also completely unobtrusive and delicate as my role in your birth is to be as unseen as possible so that I can capture the very essence of your emotions and the emotions of your partner. Without being gentle in this way I would miss out on the most delicate of moments, which is exactly what you as a parent will cherish more than you can ever imagine.

It always surprises me that the fathers are generally the ones against the idea of a birth photographer, but the ones who thank me the most for being there during the delivery. Dad’s put on brave faces but they have a lot of emotions happening during labour and delivery to.  Many times the dad’s show such appreciation for having my company throughout, whether it is a long labour process or a wait in the theatre before the doctor lets us enter the operating room. Dads believe it or not ARE the most grateful in the end. They are thankful for the support and thankful for their opportunity to play a focused and supporting role with their birthing wife or partner. And allowing the dad to be there for the laboring mom while I focus on the pictures allows the father to be apart of his babies first moments just as much as the mom.

I was one of the first few registered baby birth photographers in South Africa. With SABPA registration it gives me more access to hospitals throughout the country, including Mediclinic, Netcare and Life Hospitals. I am also a board member to SABPA driving the industry to higher standards and supporting other birth photographers on their road to better service and quality. My role at SABPA is as the relationships manager supporting the birth photographers in South Africa. We are working closely with international birth associations and providing a frontier to the birth industry across the world which is very exciting and I couldn’t be prouder at our growing South African birth industry.

There is a variety of sessions to choose from and for discounted rates there are 3 birth packages to choose from as well as additional options to look at.

Feel free to contact me via email through our contacts page or on the WhatsApp button below and I can answer any questions you may have.
